Features

Whether you’re an elite athlete, a fitness enthusiast looking to improve, or simply someone who wants to stay healthy and manage stress, Wellhero is here to support you. 🤗

It provides personalized guidance based on real data and turns that data into actionable insights.

You only need an iPhone to start using Wellhero. If you also wear an Apple Watch, Wellhero automatically pulls data from it as well. It actively measures your heart rate (HR), heart rate variability (HRV — the millisecond-level differences between beats), and your resting heart rate (RHR).

Using this data, along with your sleep information, Wellhero calculates your stress level, energy level, and a daily score that shows how well you’ve recovered and how ready you are to train.

Wellhero analyzes your iPhone and Apple Watch data, then delivers clear, actionable insights to guide your daily choices.

HR and HRV Measurement

HR and HRV Measurement on iPhone

Wellhero can measure heart rate and HRV using your phone’s camera, your Apple Watch, or a Bluetooth-connected heart rate monitor.

HR and HRV measurement with iPhone camera

Measurements using the camera are powered by photoplethysmography (PPG), a technology that ensures greater accuracy.

HR and HRV via PPG on iPhone

The camera measures 100 heartbeats in about a minute and a half, while showing you health tips and interesting facts about your body.

The Apple Watch uses the Mindfulness app to measure your data, collecting heartbeat intervals throughout the session.

A Bluetooth heart rate monitor measures your data in just over a minute. Wellhero supports popular HRV-compatible chest straps like Garmin, Polar, and others

Stress Monitoring

The app will show your stress level immediately after the measurement. If you use an Apple Watch, automatic measurements will also be taken every few hours, and the results will appear in your feed.

Baevsky Stress Index on iPhone

Stress puts pressure on your nervous system, while energy represents your body’s ability to handle that pressure.

Baevsky Stress Index iPhone app

Unlike other apps, we use open formulas to calculate stress levels and display it as the Baevsky Stress Index.

HRV Analysis

Wellhero calculates a wide range of HRV metrics and displays each one on a chart, showing standard reference ranges and comparing your results with past measurements.

RMSSD and SDNN in iPhone HRV app

After the measurement, Wellhero displays key metrics like RMSSD and SDNN, which are most commonly referred to as HRV.

PNNI50, Mean NNi, MxDMn HRV metrics in iPhone app

PNN50, Mean NNi, and MxDMn help indicate which part of your nervous system is more active – the sympathetic or parasympathetic.

CV, Mode, and AMo50 are useful for understanding how your body is coping with physical or mental stress.

Sleep Tracking 💤

apple watch sleep tracking

Wellhero gives you a clear summary of your Apple Watch sleep and rates how effective your sleep was.

Sleep duration is compared to standard recommendations and your personal baseline, along with a clear explanation.

sleep stages

The app shows how much time you spent in each sleep phase, along with the recommended duration for each. It also provides personalized recommendations.

sleep time consistency

The app calculates your average sleep and wake times. It evaluates sleep consistency based on standard guidelines and highlights on a chart the days when your schedule was disrupted.

restorative REM and deep sleep

Restorative sleep is measured both as a total value and separately for REM and deep sleep. The app shows recommendations, standard norms, and your personal baselines.

Sleep debt

The app calculates your sleep debt and indicates how serious it is for your recovery and well-being.

Overnight Vitals and Health Metrics

overnight health and vitals metrics

While you sleep, Apple Watch measures your heart rate, HRV, breathing rate, blood oxygen level, and body temperature (for Apple Watch Ultra, Series 8 and above). Each metric is compared to standard norms and your personal baseline.

Recovery Score Calculation

HRV Recovery

Your Recovery, calculated on a 0–100% scale, shows how ready your body is for physical or mental effort today. Wellhero uses your Heart Rate Variability (HRV) and Resting Heart Rate (RHR) to calculate this score, comparing today’s values to your personal 42-day average baseline. HRV carries slightly more weight than RHR due to its strong connection with the autonomic nervous system. A higher HRV means your body is more resilient and better recovered from stress.

This Recovery score stays the same throughout the day, offering a clear, stable snapshot of your readiness from the moment you wake up.

Blood Pressure Analytics

The app can analyze manually entered blood pressure (systolic and diastolic) and keeps a log of all your measurements. It compares your readings against both US and EU standards and provides an assessment of how safe your blood pressure is.

In addition, it calculates advanced metrics such as MAP (Mean Arterial Pressure), Pulse Pressure, Vegetative Index, CEBC (Coefficient of Economization of Blood Circulation), and RPP (Rate Pressure Product). Each metric comes with a clear explanation, and you can view trends over time by comparing your results on a chart with previous measurements.

Blood pressure readings input

The input form mirrors the interface of most medical devices, and the data is validated as you enter it.

Symptoms and Habits Tracking

The app allows you to add tags to track the frequency of your actions over a selected period. You can also tag your HRV or blood pressure measurements. Soon, you’ll be able to see how specific actions or symptoms affect your stress levels and other HRV metrics.

Health Trends Monitoring

HR and RHR trends

The app can display trends by day, week, or month for key metrics and tagged activities. You can explore how changes in your habits or lifestyle affect your health and work on improving your metrics.
